Nele Maas is a senior research consultant at FfE in Berlin since 2024. Her work focuses on electricity markt design, grid tariffs and the grid-oriented integration of large-scale battery storage. She currently leads a the project supporting the implementation of the Electricity Storage Strategy for the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and the field test on dynamic grid tariffs for the German Energy Agency (dena). In addition, she works with project developers and grid operators on the design of FCAs and grid tariffs for battery storages within FfE’s Large Battery Storage Cooperation Forum. She holds an M.Sc. in industrial engineering from TU Berlin, and a B.Sc. in industrial engineering from Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin and the Berlin School of Economics and Law.
