Nikhil Koppaka is a Senior Commercial Manager at BW ESS, a global energy storage developer, owner, and operator. Nikhil focuses on offtake strategy and revenue optimisation across a portfolio of battery energy storage assets. His work includes structuring and negotiating route-to-market agreements, evaluating merchant risk, and developing bankable revenue hedging frameworks in evolving European power markets.
Nikhil has over eight years of experience across solar PV and battery storage in India and Europe, with deep expertise in power market dynamics, revenue structuring, and the role of flexibility assets in accelerating the energy transition.
Prior to joining BW ESS, Nikhil worked in the BESS commercial team at Aquila Clean Energy, supporting the development and commercialisation of storage projects. He holds an MBA in Energy Management from Technical University of Berlin and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
