Dr. Stefan Englberger is Head of Commercial & Investment Analysis at ECO STOR, one of Germany’s leading utility-scale battery storage developers, owners and operators. He leads the commercial structuring and investment analysis of large-scale BESS projects, translating market opportunities, regulatory requirements, counterparty needs and lender expectations into bankable business models and robust investment decisions.
At ECO STOR, Stefan is responsible for merchant and contracted revenue strategies, including tolling structures and flexibility purchase agreements. He has led the commercial structuring of several flagship German BESS projects, including the merchant set-up for Bollingstedt with 103.5 MW / 239 MWh, the tolling contract framework for Schuby with 103.5 MW / 239 MWh, and the large-scale contracted project in Förderstedt with 300 MW / 716 MWh.
Prior to joining ECO STOR, Stefan earned his PhD at the Technical University of Munich in battery technology and led research projects on the optimized deployment of energy storage systems. He also gained international experience in the United States, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates across supply chain, business development and industrial projects.
